Rhéal Leroux, received Canada’s highest civilian distinction

Rhéal Leroux, President of Ovatio/Leroux Inc. received Canada’s highest civilian distinction, the Order of Canada. This was mentioned in the previous blog post.

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada, presided over this Order of Canada investiture ceremony on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at her second official residence at the Citadelle of Québec.

The following text was read during the presentation:

“For more than 40 years, Rhéal Leroux has been striving to promote the bounty of his region. He is renowned for his commitment to the community and for his keen sense of creativity in organizing major events at the heart of the Nation’s Capital. Winterlude, the Franco-Ontarian Festival, the 1984 Papal Visit, and the IV Jeux de la Francophonie bear his imprint. Known for his commitment to promoting and protecting French language and culture, he supported the creation of the Cité collégiale and the fight to save the Montfort Hospital from closing.”

In 1992, Rhéal Leroux established a new international exhibition and event management services division, and in 2003, he appointed Jean-Sébastien Leroux to the position of Director of International Operations.
